Photography ~ "Over & Over"
Exhibition Text
“Over & Over” is a series of 100 photos taken as the first of three summer art projects. “Over” refers to my tendency to overthink things deemed trivial by others and how each photo taken this summer involved analysis. To emphasize my chaotic thinking process, each photo in this collection is captioned with an abridged version of my thoughts when approaching the image and how, with many things in life, I tend to see objects as the parts that make them up instead of seeing it as a whole.
Note: Originally, all of my images were compiled into a gallery that allowed viewers to enlarge images and read the captions below. However, when I did that, many of the photos were unable to be rotated to be in the correct viewing position. In order to rectify this, I have instead organized the photos in rows of 2-4 (depending on if they are horizontal/vertical), with the caption underneath. Many photos were also taken with a small digital camera that has a feature where the time and date are at the bottom of the photo; while I was able to crop that out of most of the photos, there are a couple of images I was unable to crop because it would then alter the image that I was trying to capture.
