MIAD Figure Drawing Workshop
February 14th, 2020
Students were provided with the following materials to complete the workshop: one stick of vine charcoal, one stick of compressed charcoal, a white rubber eraser, and multiple sheets of large drawing paper (I was unable to catch the dimensions)

For the duration of a 7-hour school day, Reagan senior art students were invited to the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) to take part in a figure drawing workshop and meet with admissions staff. Students were meant to understand what it would be like to experience an intensive college-level workshop, and for many students including myself, this was the first time such an opportunity was presented without an expensive price attached. |
Drawing stations were situated in an ovular perimeter around two models - one male, one female - each with a stool, wide bench, and pillow for positioning purposes. We were encouraged to switch positions and experiment with drawing both models - however, as I don't fancy myself an illustrator and had never attended any sort of drawing class, I decided to "play it safe" and use the female model as reference for each of my sketches.
